The Campaign

In what is perhaps the strongest argument to date for the privatization of liquor, beer and wine distribution in Ontario, Canada, The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) has chosen to quit using the durable standard plastic bags (SPBs) for customer purchases. Instead, they’ve resorted to paper bags without handles, the cardboard box option, and the policy of selling you their own supposedly reusable plastic bags at inflated prices.  The decision is allegedly based on “environmental issues”, but we believe that the consequences of this move will be far more damaging to both the environment and to all LCBO customers.

We ask you to visit our Issues & Concerns page for a growing list of things to consider whether you are an environmentalist or not. We also have a Petition page if you agree that the LCBO should reverse it’s decision to discontinue the use of standard plastic bags, and a Links page for related information.
